About Your Tutor

A word from Alex Nelson:

Alex Nelson - Headshot (b&w)

Standardized test preparation has been my full-time career for over a decade. I’ve worked with several national and local test prep companies including The Princeton Review, Kaplan, Blueprint, SuperLSAT, and Elite Private Tutors. Many of their tutors are great! Most, however, are part-time and only teach for a few years before pursuing their main careers. Test prep has been my full-time career since I graduated college, and I’m keeping it that way.

Every company I’ve worked for charges over $100/hr for their base level tutoring. If you want to guarantee yourself a tutor with a few years experience, you have to pay for the “Master” or “Elite” level that costs $200/hr or more. With ten years experience, I was that highest level tutor at these companies, but I broke away and now offer tutoring at a reasonable cost!

As my student, all of your tutoring, scheduling, and payments are handled by me directly – this means no miscommunication, and it means you save money by not paying for the staff of large companies. I keep ten to twenty students at a time, and I’m not looking to expand – I just focus on excellent service for my small pool of clients.

I don’t want to sell you on a brand or other products, just my personal time to help you get the best score possible on your test. I truly love learning these tests and helping people get into the schools they want. After ten years and hundreds of students, I know what it takes to earn a massive score improvement.

If you’ve read this far, please contact me! Even if you’re not interested in tutoring, I’m still happy to answer your questions and give you a few pointers for your own test prep.
